Global Money Week 2025 is coming... think before you act, manage your money wisely!
3 February 2025

The 13th edition of Global Money Week will take place from 17 to 23 March 2025. This international campaign, promoted by the OECD and coordinated nationally by the Italian Government Financial Education Committee, aims to raise awareness among young people, starting from preschool age, of the importance of acquiring the necessary skills to make responsible and informed financial decisions responsibly and consciously.
This year's theme is 'Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow'. The goal of this edition of GMW is to raise awareness among young people of the importance of acquiring sound financial skills and developing a critical approach to information sources. The developments in digital finance and the changes in how young people get their information and use online financial services - ranging from the emergence of financial influencers (so-called 'finfluencers') to the increasing use of artificial intelligence - make it more important than ever to be able to recognize reliable and unbiased sources of information and to make conscious and informed choices between different services and products based on one's own needs.

Why participate with your school?
Encouraging younger students to reflect on the importance of using online information responsibly and on the potential of artificial intelligence is essential to being an active and responsible digital citizenship. And learning can also be fun!
With this goal in mind, Banca d'Italia participates in the Global Money Week by offering educational workshops led by our experts for all schools, from elementary to high school, also covering topics such as cybersecurity, with a special focus on online payments and purchases.
If you're a teacher and would like your class to participate in these workshops, visit the dedicated webpage, where you'll find all the necessary information. All workshops are free of charge.
Happy Global Money Week to everyone!
