Women and financial education: a dedicated initiative goes live

'Why financial education? From need to opportunity' is the title of a seminar held in Rome on 14 November at the Casa internazionale delle donne (International Women's House), which launched a financial education initiative tailored to a female audience.

Are there differences in the knowledge of economics and finance between men and women? How is women's relationship with economic knowledge different today? What are the risks that women could find difficult to grasp? These were the questions that were discussed during the debate moderated by Debora Rosciani, a journalist at Radio24 and Il Sole 24 Ore.

The seminar laid the foundations for a financial education initiative tailored to women and centring on money management issues such as handling the family budget, saving, borrowing, and investing. The course will be held on a weekly basis during the first half of 2020, and will be hosted at the Casa internazionale delle donne, in partnership, among others, with the Bank of Italy and Consob.
