Financial education month - 2024

Since 2018, the Italian Committee on the Planning and Coordination of Financial Education Activities has promoted the 'Financial Education Month', the main national initiative dedicated to raising awareness and providing information on financial, insurance and pension-related topics.

Every year, hundreds of events are held across the country by public institutions, associations, financial intermediaries and private companies, with the aim of improving people's understanding of how to manage and plan their personal and family finances, as well as raising awareness on insurance and retirement issues.

The initiative's motto is 'Financial education: today for your tomorrow', highlighting the importance of investing time in learning about personal finance - not only to make more informed decisions, but also to better handle unexpected events in the future.

The activities are open to a broad audience – including students, adults, retirees and small business owners - and participation is always free of charge.

The seventh edition of Financial Education Month will take place from 1 to 30 November 2024 and will feature a full calendar of events, including:

  • the first Financial Legality Day, promoted by the Committee on the Planning and Coordination of Financial Education Activities and the Guardia di Finanza, under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and primarily aimed at younger audiences;
  • Pension Education Week, from 18 to 24 November;
  • Insurance Education Day (for the full programme, visit www.ivass.it);
  • and the Italian events organised as part of World Investor Week.

Banca d'Italia takes part each year with numerous initiatives for both young people and adults, organised online, in person and in hybrid formats throughout the country, thanks to the widespread presence of its regional branches.

It is possible to attend Banca d'Italia events online or in hybrid format via the Webex platform (personal data required for access is processed in accordance with the Platform's Privacy Policy).

Some events are also streamed on Banca d'Italia's official YouTube channel. Links to virtual rooms - when not already published in the official calendar - are made available on the relevant webpages shortly before each event.

The full calendar of events for the Financial Education Month - including those organised by other institutions – and information on how to participate are available on the official website of the Committee.
