The fourteenth edition of Global Money Week will take place from 16 to 22 March 2026. It is an international campaign promoted by the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development) and coordinated in Italy by the Committee for Financial Education (Comitato Edufin). Its goal is to raise young people's awareness-starting from preschool age-about the importance of building the skills needed to make responsible, well‑informed financial decisions.

The theme of this edition is "Smart money talks". Young people often face financial choices but don't always feel comfortable talking about money. Sharing experiences and asking the right people the right questions, together with solid financial, insurance, and retirement literacy, can help them develop skills, avoid mistakes, and build healthy habits to achieve their financial well‑being.

Why take part with your school?

Encouraging young people to talk about money at school-with their peers and teachers-can help them become more informed citizens. And at school, learning can be fun too!

With this in mind, the Bank of Italy is taking part in Global Money Week by offering free, expert‑led workshops for schools at every level-from primary to upper secondary (high school)-on topics such as financial planning, money, payment instruments, and cybersecurity, with a special focus on online payments and shopping.

If you're a teacher and would like your class to join these workshops, visit the dedicated section for all the information you need. All workshops are free of charge.

Have a happy Global Money Week!
