MUDEM - Money Museum initiatives

The Money Museum, MUDEM, is a cultural project that is currently being developed by Banca d'Italia in collaboration with curator Paco Lanciano and Giovanni Carrada.

MUDEM will offer a journey – via three visitor routes – through the history of money and finance, from their earliest simple forms right up to the present day. It will be an educational journey spanning five thousand years of history, intertwining economics, society, art and technology.

Through multimedia and immersive experiences as well as workshop activities, the Money Museum will guide visitors through the evolution of major monetary and financial phenomena, with the aim of making knowledge on topics often perceived as distant more accessible.

MUDEM will be housed at Villa Hüffer, located at 191 Via Nazionale in Rome. While awaiting its opening, visit the MUDEM website to keep up to date with physical and virtual exhibitions and deep dives into the world of money!
