Fierida

FIERIDA is the most significant event in Italy dedicated to adult education.

The initiative is promoted and organised by RIDAP, the national network of educational institutions offering programmes for adults. It includes both Spring and Winter Editions.

The event aims to provide a space for discussion among school leaders, teachers, and administrative, technical and support staff (ATA) from Provincial Centres for Adult Education (CPIAs) and secondary schools. It also encourages dialogue on adult education and lifelong learning with policymakers, public administrations, regional and local authorities, universities, research bodies, third-sector organisations and social partners.

For several years, Banca d'Italia has been actively involved in promoting financial literacy through CPIAs, leveraging its network of local branches. The Bank participates in FIERIDA by offering:

• training modules for teachers on basic economic and financial topics;
• opportunities for direct engagement with learners, many of whom are financially vulnerable (such as migrants, low-income workers, and individuals in prison).

CPIAs represent a key channel for Banca d'Italia to reach adult learners and to promote full social inclusion and active citizenship through financial education.
