Once again this year, during the Financial Education Month, Banca d'Italia renews its commitment to promoting financial literacy, with a special focus on young people and those most exposed to economic challenges.

Branches across the country are offering practical workshops and activities aimed at providing useful tools and knowledge to help people make more informed financial decisions in everyday life.

An inclusive programme

Events will be held in person, online, or in hybrid format, and are open to a wide audience: young people, adults, women, older people, teachers, small business owners, third-sector volunteers, and migrants.

Workshops for schools

SIf you're interested in activities for students and teachers, take a look at the initiatives planned for schools - we covered them in last week's update!

Local initiatives for adults involving various partners include:

  • Economics for Everyone is for You: a hands-on workshop to explore how to use calculators and resources available on our 'Economics for Everyone' website, useful for simulating mortgage payments, investment outcomes, and planning and saving.
  • Women Count: The ABCs of Investing: a session for trainers from three major trade unions (CGIL, CISL, UIL) to explore key investment concepts such as risk, return, and diversification, with the aim of strengthening women's financial independence.
  • Financial Education, Inclusion, Solidarity: a programme developed with Caritas, aimed at volunteers and managers of listening centres, to promote social inclusion through financial education.
  • Complaints to Banca d'Italia and Appeals to the Banking and Financial Ombudsman: informative sessions in collaboration with consumer associations to raise awareness of the protection tools made available by Banca d'Italia.
