What happens if debit interest is not paid

If a customer has not authorised the debit of interest from their current account and has not paid the interest by the due date (1 March), they are considered in default.

What are the consequences?

The bank, as the creditor, may take legal action to recover the amount owed. Additionally, if the bank reports the customer's debt to the Central Credit Register, the report will also include the amount of the unpaid interest.
