The first line of defence against online and phone scams doesn't require any software. It costs just a moment of your time: it's simply stopping, thinking and verifying. Scammers often create a false sense of urgency or anxiety to pressure us into acting quickly - clicking a link, sharing passwords or sensitive data, or making a payment - sometimes by claiming a loved one is in trouble.

Pausing to reflect and refusing to act immediately is the key message of the 2025 edition of I Navigati, which was launched on 3 October. Through videos, expert interviews, in-depth articles and practical advice, the Navigati family returns to help us avoid digital fraud - including scams that use artificial intelligence, such as mimicking a loved one's voice - and to use instant bank transfers safely. All content is available online via the I Navigati website, as well as on the Facebook and Instagram pages and digital TV channels dedicated to this campaign.

The campaign is a joint effort between public institutions and the banking sector. It is promoted by CERTFin in collaboration with Banca d'Italia, the Italian Banking Association (ABI), IVASS, Polizia di Stato (the Italian national Police) and 18 banking institutions, with the support of the Data Protection Authority and the National Cybersecurity Agency.
