- TAN Annual nominal interest rate (in Italian TAN - Tasso Annuo Nominale)
The annual nominal interest rate (in Italian TAN - Tasso Annuo Nominale) indicates the 'pure' interest rate on a loan given as an annual percentage rate. It is 'pure' in the sense that it does not include fees or expenses and therefore does not reflect the overall cost of the loan, unlike the APR. Therefore, a loan with a TAN of 0 per cent could have an APR that is much higher than zero.
- TECHNICAL SECRETARIAT (of the ABF)
Each of the seven Banking and Financial Ombudsman (ABF) panels are provided support by one of the technical secretariats located in the pertinent Banca d'Italia branch.
The technical secretariats carry out the following activities:
- receive complaints and check that the documentation is complete, correct and respects the deadlines;
- receive the documentation submitted by the intermediary;
- if necessary, ask the parties to provide further information;
- handle communication with the parties concerning their complaints.
- TEXT ALERT
An automatic notification service whereby a bank sends text alerts to its customers to inform them of any payment made, including the amount spent and the payment method (e.g. credit card, debit card, etc.). Automatic notifications may also be sent out in the event of an overdraft or when the salary or pension is credited on the customer's account.

Jean Tirole won the Nobel Prize in 2014 for his analysis of market power and regulation.
- TREASURY
Banca d'Italia acts as Treasurer to the Italian State. It makes payments on account of general government bodies and collects all amounts due on whatever basis to the central government, both directly and indirectly through banks, Poste Italiane and tax collection agencies. Banca d'Italia also keeps the accounts of some non-state entities, including local governments, through the 'single treasury'.
